A couple of reasons people would bother doing this? firstly it looks amazing, seriously watch it! secondly imagine bringing photographs back to life from a time when HD cameras didn't even exist. The video cameras we are working with now a days have insane quality don't get me wrong, but it remains a fact that still Photography always has the edge on film.
For me their is something incredible about bringing the sharpness and depth of a photograph to life with the illusion of movement. This is definitely something I want to try and work into a film at some point and seems like the perfect combination of skills, Photography and film.
